Amid the Afghan refugee crisis, the government of Canada website has announced an initiative that aims at bringing immediate family members of Afghans to the country.

The Canadian Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino has announced the details of parents and grandparents sponsorship at a press conference held in Surrey British Columbia shortly after 5 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) last Tuesday and he explained that the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) will feature a lottery once again
