Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that the period between the invitation and application for the express entry system has been reduced to 60 days.
By this announcement IRCC has rolled back the changes that it carried out in March 2020 to adapt to the Covid 19 restrictions when it granted applicants 90 days to finalise their application. Noteworthy to mention that Express Entry candidates who were invited to apply before June 29, 2021 are still allowed to submit their application for permanent residence within 90 days of invitation.
IRCC says the 60-day time frame will enable the department to deal with higher volumes of applications.In Spite of that some exceptions in Canad’s immigration system are still in place due to the Covid 19 restrictions. To see a full list please consult government webpage.
